so there is more time available for admiring the landscapes and the wildlife. call for prices survival adventure duration: 4 days, 4 nights venue: knoydart our typical survival adventure is based in the northern part of knoydart. you will join us at mallaig on the first evening, where you will meet the rest of your team for a few drinks and the pre-adventure briefing. you will spend the night at the local bed and breakfast and in the morning we will take the team to the base camp on knoydart in our 5.4m rib. for the next four days you will learn to live off the land, supplemented by various locally sourced foods (even though this is one of the last remaining wildernesses in the uk, we want to keep it that way, so we work with the local rangers to leave as little impact on the land as we can). you will learn the following skills during your trip: finding a suitable camp hammock setting fire-lighting backwoods cooking sea fishing water collection and purification knife and axe skills ropework navigation at night and day distress signals you will spend one day in camp, learning the essential skills that you will need for the remainder of the trip in order to make life in the wilderness comfortable. you will spend another day in the mountains with one of our experienced mountain leaders, admiring the gorgeous views across loch hourn, bagging at least one munro. and you will spend the third day at sea, fishing for cod and other delights for the pot that evening. on the final day you will pack up everything that you need for the trip back, and hike across the peninsula back to inverie, where you can enjoy a cold drink and swap stories with the locals. that evening you will be taken back across loch nevis to mallaig, your adventure behind you, but memories to treasure. survival adventures can be booked at any time for groups of between 4 and 12. the above plan is what we recommend, but if you have different needs, or a different timescale, then we can make recommendations for any requirements. for individual adventurers, or smaller groups, we have several pre-planned survival adventures on our calendar for you to join in with. these events will run with between 4 and 12 participants. on occasion these events will not have enough participants to go ahead, but we will let you know one month in advance if this is likely to be the case, and we will, of course, accommodate you on another similar trip. all specialist equipment will be provided, and we will provide a kit-list of essential personal clothing and equipment that you should bring along. mountain expedition duration: 3 days, 3 nights venue: knoydart our favourite mountain expedition is on and around the peninsula of knoydart, but we can plan this for wherever you have some mountains left to bag. you will meet us at mallaig or another local village on the first evening, and meet your team for a few drinks and the pre-expedition briefing and kit check. you will spend the night at the local bed and breakfast, and set out on the expedition the following morning. if necessary you will be transported to the start point by a member of our support team, who will be in remote contact for the whole expedition. your mountain guide will provide expert tuition on navigation and mountain climbing skills, and will take care of you throughout the expedition. you will be carrying everything that you need for the full three days that you are walking, and you will spend the nights in either bivouacs, hammocks, or hike tents, depending on the expected weather and season. this will be a mentally and physically demanding adventure, but those that survive will have memories to last a lifetime. mountain expeditions can be booked at any time for groups of between 4 and 12. we will advise on the suitability of different mountain ranges, and the length of time needed for particular routes. for individual adventurers, or smaller groups, we have several pre-planned expeditions on our calendar for you to join in with. these events will run with between 4 and 12 participants. on occasion these events will not have enough participants to go ahead, but we will let you know one month in advance if this is likely to be the case, and we will, of course, accommodate you on another similar trip. duke of edinburgh expedition duration: 4 days, 3 nights venue: various as you would expect, wild hog adventures have many years of experience with the duke of edinburgh award, and we can support you in taking part in your gold expedition, whether it is the practice expedition or qualifier, or a training weekend leading up to it, we have the skills and expertise to give you the best opportunity of achieving this prestigious award. most participants will already be enrolled in the award, and be taking part in the other sections (volunteering, physical, skill and residential), but we can point you in the direction of an award centre if necessary. the most challenging part of t
