reiki master classes & holistic healing in baltimore md | sacred healing hands skip to content home reiki metta reiki® animal reiki classes & events reiki metta reiki™ soul coaching® qigong workshops events registration reiki healing portal testimonials blog about tracy contact sacred healing hands reiki changing course… i have written this newsletter countless times. i was sure the last version was just right ~ until i read it again a day later. this morning i realized that this message doesn’t need to be eloquent, doesn’t need to have links to related information, doesn’t need the perfect photo and does not need to inspire. it simply needs to be honest and to the point. 2016 was a challenging year. last june, the news of my daughter’s suicide left me in shock and full of profound sadness. after taking 3 months off, i returned to my studio, slipping right back into my usual schedule of seeing clients and teaching reiki classes. for a while i felt strong and thought it was good to get back to what i love so much. in october, i felt another emotional wave approaching. a few weeks later, with the oncoming holidays, it felt like i was hit by a tsunami of grief. i continued to see clients and teach classes, but began to feel like i was in quick sand. the harder i tried to hold it together, the deeper i sank. my amazing, loving family and friends helped me through the holidays. but still, i felt like i was being dragged down. i had been seeing and hearing subtle universal messages about slowing down, being still and giving myself the space to grieve. one afternoon in december, i was sitting with a client in my reiki room and we were talking about the busyness of life. she was looking at me with tears in her eyes, exhausted from being the last on her long list of things to take care of. i heard myself say to her “we can’t give what we don’t have…”. my words were so loud in my ears. i realized in that moment, i had recited those exact words to all my clients earlier that day. you can deliver messages to others only so many times before realizing your own words are as much for yourself as they are for someone else. it’s with great clarity and understanding that i have made the difficult, yet necessary, decision to create space in my life by taking a year-long personal leave from my practice, teaching and sacred healing hands wellness studio to grieve the loss of my beloved daughter, chelsi. i will surely miss my work, but i know it to be true that if nothing changes, nothing changes. my final teaching for this year is next month’s metta reiki master class. sacred healing hands will host 2 more reiki shares for reiki practitioners on february 21 and march 21, 6:30-8:00pm . despite the events of this past year, i am truly blessed and grateful beyond words for everything that has brought me to this moment. i am eternally grateful to all who have placed their trust in me to guide them along their sacred spiritual path and for the loving support that continues to flow from family and friends. thank you, thank you, thank you. here’s to hope, healing and transformation for all of us. with love, tracy oxoxo ps – i’ll be on facebook and hope to become more active with blogging about this experience at sacredhealinghands.com so please do sign up for my email announcements by clicking on the button on this page. thank you <3 welcome to sacred healing hands! we teach all levels of usui holy fire reiki from beginner to reiki master, karuna reiki® master and metta reiki® master. tracy m. houchins is an icrt senior licensed reiki master teacher/practitioner, certified soul coach, past life coach, founder of metta reiki® and founder of sacred healing hands in marriottsville, maryland. our studio provides clients and students with a beautiful setting to relax, rejuvenate, heal and learn. we offer reiki healing sessions and teach all levels of usui/holy fire reiki, karuna reiki® and metta reiki® training. stay tuned for soul coaching® practitioner training to be offered in 2017! did you know reiki is for everyday people?
