rondo music london about us instrumental and theory tuition testimonials contact us new student sign-up log in concerts gallery submit -- our history rondo music london was founded by natalia and istvan alexa in 2008, a musician couple who were brought up with the kodály method. music is a major part of their everyday lives, including performing and teaching, and they both have more than 10 years' experience. our aims the rondo music london aims to deliver the highest standard of both instrumental and music theory tuition. rondo music london provides regular performance opportunities for pupils, as well as preparing them for abrsm and trinity instrumental and theory exams. meet the team natalia alexa, director french horn, trumpet, recorder, piano born in hungary, natalia started to play the horn when she was 8 years old and was raised with the kodály method. she was 11 years old when she won the 2nd place at the county horn competition and took part in the national horn competition. she also won the special award in a folk song competition in mátészalka in 2003. she gained her bmus degree in 2005 at the university of pécs with an outstanding result. during her school years she played in a variety of chamber groups, gained orchestral experience, took part in numerous national competitions and international horn masterclasses led by peter damm, and ab koster just to name a few. since 2005, natalia lives in london and works as a musician in various orchestras, performed in britain's got talent in 2016 where her orchestra has made it to the semi finals, she has performed rosetti's concerto for two horns with orchestra later on that year at st john's smiths square, london; as well as teaching her pupils. they established rondo music london with her husband where she provides gold standard music education. istvan alexa, director piano mr istvan alexa, born in hungary, is a highly qualified pianist and piano teacher. he started to play the piano at the age of 6 at the local kodály school in his hometown. he has received three awards for young talented musicians from the kocsis - hauser music foundation. he has always been encouraged by his family and his piano teachers to play the piano at a very high standard. he gained his bmus degree in 2004 at the franz liszt conservatoire in szeged. during the university he had the opportunity to play in a jazz choir band as a pianist and started to work at the national theatre as an accompanist. whilst being an active performer he dedicated most of his time to teaching children at a local private music school. in 2005 he moved to london and, alongside his wife, established rondo music london. stephanie legg piano, saxophone, clarinet stephanie is an experienced teacher of saxophone, piano and clarinet. having completed her studies at trinity laban conservatoire of music and dance in 2013, stephanie has gone on to perform at the royal festival hall, west green house opera and ronnie scotts jazz club to name a few. stephanie has enjoyed performing in europe, at sudtirol festival italy, the streets of manufaktura festival in lodz poland and also the caribbean club in kiev. in the uk, stephanie has performed at glastonbury festival and most recently, at the edinburgh fringe festival with progressive brass rock band 'perhaps contraption'. edit aniko paulik flute, fife, recorder miss edit aniko paulik was born in hungary. she started to learn music at the age of 6 and raised with the kodaly method at the local music school. edit gained her bmus degree as a flute teacher and performer of chamber music in 2007 and became a professional flute teacher when she received her master’s degree in music education at the university of szeged in 2010 with outstanding result. in the past her pupils have taken part in several national competitions and concerts and have achieved great results every year. edit plays voluntarily in an ensemble at a local church service and also regularly performs with notable orchestras in london such as bbc elstree concert band, the philharmonia britannica and the brent symphony orchestra. since 2013 edit has worked as a recorder and flute teacher in london and started to work at the rondo music london in 2019. michael john (aka "vanya") popoff composing, improvisation, piano born and raised in canada, i began to sing and to play the keyboard "by ear" as a toddler, eventually enrolling in private piano lessons at the age of 8. i subsequently pursued intensive musical studies throughout my school years and beyond, obtaining a grade 10 piano certificate from the royal conservatory of music, a college diploma in keyboard performance and a bachelor of music university degree majoring in composition and theory (u.vic). since childhood, i've been a composer of mostly solo piano pieces, and have also been involved with many different choral groups, some of which i helped to found and direct. in addition, i've been a member of several bands and ensembles as a pianist/keyboardist, backup vocalist, percussionist, rhythm guitarist and even trumpet player. these solo, choral and ensemble endeavours have all led to a wide and varied performing, recording and touring career over the past 25 years, with numerous cd releases! during that time, i've also been a regular private music tutor and, more recently, a classroom teacher. from 2012-14, i was the music teacher at the nelson waldorf (rudolf steiner) school in british columbia, canada, where i provided weekly classroom - and private - instruction in singing, recorder, guitar, keyboards, trumpet, percussion and small ensembles to students aged 8-15, and also helped direct a school musical production of "oliver". following that, i was a "reception" teacher for three years at a private esl pre-school in moscow, russia, where i also facilitated music and singing clubs for children aged 3-8. since moving to london in 2017, i have found work as a supply teacher and teaching assistant at various secondary schools around greater london. in 2018, i spent two consecutive terms at oasis academy silvertown in newham, working primarily as a learning support assistant and also helping out with the music department, teaching piano/keyboards, voice, guitar, band skills, improvisation and composition, as well as assisting with several school choirs and other small student ensembles. throughout my life, i have enjoyed meeting and mentoring students of all ages and abilities, all over the world (from north america to new zealand to europe!), and am keen to continue to inspire and share my musical passions with all :-) about us instrumental and theory tuition testimonials contact us new student sign-up log in concerts gallery copyright © 2019 rondo music london powered by my music staff
