skip to content ant and vic welcome to our blog! on this blog, we will share our written experiences on everyday occurrences with life and culture in america. experiences that may be discussed are of challenges, laughter, love, culture, and an insight of our intermixed relationship. topics will vary as life goes on… menu home about me contact me tinseltown and the changing skyline november 17, 2018 ~ vicnaant80 ~ leave a comment california… the last three letters take on a life of their own.. some say it with love.. others might say it with pride. love for all the good things california stands for pride in this seamless journey to the gold rush and the creation of tinseltown. today we hardly see the skies that hold the sun in the day so that we can bask in its glory… at night, the sky gloomily obscures the moon from mesmerising us. oh..california burns…. from socal to norcal. the hazy smoke from burning embers makes most of us choke while we try to endure the burning fields are a testament of how parched and thirsty our california lands are it makes me want to beckon on the guardians of the irreverent precipitation.. look down on us with mercy for we really do thirst! the old and fragile are running away from the beauty and serenity of their homes the fiercesome glow of burning embers does not make for a beautiful picture the winds coming from the pacific whimsically waltz among the embers and fan the fires adrift away from the gushing juices of the first responders’ water hoses. i long for lazy sunday afternoons when the sky is so blue that you feel it on your breath i long for the walks in the park and the ride across the trail i long for the california i have learnt to love. please send down the rain! voting in america november 7, 2018 november 17, 2018 ~ vicnaant80 ~ 4 comments i have had a ballot in my presence for about 3 weeks. i debated to vote, because of the voting fraud that goes on with the hacking of the machines. it was a heavy day today. the election day in america. from my understanding, the parties people vote for will determine the power of the democratic or republican party. do we want more republicans to have power to keep trump on for another 4 years? do we want more democratic votes to have power to kick trump out of office. its a very hectic day in america where people are more divided than ever . i’m surprised that there weren’t any fights. who knows if there were any fights or shooting at the voting poles? it was interesting to have oprah out going door to door in support of the democrats. usually people of money like to stick more to the republican side of the political spectrum. so i was surprised of oprah’s dive into the political realm of things. i think oprah’s involvement had a lot to do with a cultural push to get voters out to the poles. i believe she said, “get out and show out.” that is a typical way a minority would say things. she was a surprising addition to this political time of november 2018. with african americans and mexicans getting out to vote, there might be a greater chance for democrats winning the majority at the poles. i voted not too long ago. there was no parking, so i ended up parking on the grass illegally. since i had my ballot for almost 3 weeks, it would have been my fault if i would have gotten a ticket for parking the way i had. but, i was determined to vote. most people don’t want trump in office. we all know that he has been a radical in the office. it definitely seems that he has been a radical or more defensive. who do we believe when it comes to the media and trumps serial tweeting when it comes to the issues facing america today? as it is a day of voting rights and the energy of the evening, may the best candidate win in hopes to gain power for the upcoming presidential elections. vic ex boyfriend, ex lover november 3, 2018 november 17, 2018 ~ vicnaant80 ~ leave a comment ex , you broke my heart which taught me a lesson on the types of boys that are out here being womanizers. you told me i don’t and can’t possibly love you because you have no money and that you are in debt with no investments. you were never there when i needed you especially during a hard transition. all this confirmed that you were a crappy person in my life who may have taken advantage of my weakness. so, i ask you and anyone who would like to respond, why would i ever want to associate with a person like you, boy. it amazes me to know that people don’t realize that they are creating an image for themselves. and i have to praise derrick jaxn for shedding the light for women who don’t want to see the actual dirt that low life guys try to pull on women. these type of boys just interrupted a woman’s life. for what? ah..the predator lurking on prey. i had an ex contact me and i don’t understand what he was looking for. it is over! you will miss every inch of me! this guy did his dirt and shamed his family. please don’t call me and try to act as if nothing really happened. what do you want? why are you contacting me after several months? i really don’t get why you are calling and texting me after a few months nor want to know why, boy. gosh, why am i questioning in my writing. maybe i do want to know why he contacted me. anyhow, i am happy and in love with a man who loves me back. there are brighter days for me as the man in my life shows me how a man should be. ant is not perfect, but he lives everyday to make beautiful experiences with me. ant there are no words to express my appreciation for who you are in my life. thank you for being a man! vic apartment complications october 29, 2018 november 17, 2018 ~ vicnaant80 ~ leave a comment renters, apartment seekers, and apartment owners, did you know there are many different types of complications built in the whole experience of being a renter? owners please tell me you know this? people behave extremely weird after hours. like there is no shame in the actions. yes, there is a complaint procedure and security to call in the event that there is an issue. but, that does no justice as to what happens after a complaint is done or security is called to advise the residents of their actions. the problem is not solved when you are the resident enduring the complication of renting an apartment next to these renters, owners. as i obtained a rental unit after 17 years of being a homeowner, i found out that making a complaint does not alleviate the situation or problems with a neighbor. it actually escalates the situation when you complain and the neighbor gets a call. i live in an apartment unit that is downstairs, and the normal problem is the noise made by the upstairs unit as they walk about during their day or night. i was like, “come on!” ant would say, “come on now o.” with nigerians and their linguo, using the o at the end of the sentence stresses the exclamation as the americans use an exclamation mark in a sentence to signal an emotion. so, yea..i had to put this in this blog because i just learned a little bit on the linguo of west africans, and i wanted to share. i listen to nigerian and african music of all kinds and had not known that the o expresses an emotion behind the phrases sung. ant’s perception to the noise above, at first, was that it was not the renters fault. i objected from the start that it was done on purpose. they were loud and didn’t care as to how loud they were as they moved about all day. it does s seem like they were walking in circles and moving furniture all day. yes, that is what i hear day in and day out. oh man, what i would give for a go fund me account on getting ant and vic a house to get past the torments of living in an apartment. owner, have you lived in one of your units to understand what renters actually go through? you should try it out but undercover. just a suggestion. people will act differently of course if they know the owner or manager is living nearby. it’s so horrible though what renters go through! people have no shame. it c
